FJFest, Part EIGHT/Day 2
This one has the dreaded Human Sidewalk competition. I got this idea from a
trample video!
Henrietta had an excellent nights sleep, and arrived at their training room
a little earlier than normal. It gave her time to think, and to focus on
the day’s activities. A good dinner at home and a good foot-rub from her
brother seemed to set everything right with the world. Still, she got a
little tired of mom asking if she’d met a boy yet. Mikey was just someone
she used at the competition. Still, she had to admire the way he came
through for her yesterday. Maybe he WAS special. She would dance with him
at the after-competition dance scheduled for the next evening, as she felt
she owed him that much.
The rest of her team started arriving. For some reason, her mind wandered
to the footwear of the girls. Everyone wore the same outfit: a strappy
blue-and while blouse and a matching tennis skirt with bloomers. With that,
she was wearing her normal Nikes with blue socks. This time, they had
little stars on them. She saw Aurore was sock-less as always, and her feet
were in gray clogs. Zoë was right behind her with her bare feet in her Bass
sandals. Her best friend Mai had her Asics with yellow socks today. Tina
had her usual black calf-length socks, and Henrietta could never understand
why she always wore those. Lori had her high-top sneakers with long white
knee socks, like she normally wore for the basketball team. Miko had white
sneakers with white ribbed calf-length socks, and Cindy had her usual
leather slip-ons with light blue lacy ankle socks.
Ami, as always, never failed to disappoint. Rising out of her battered and
untied Converses was one red-and-green, Christmas looking striped sock, and
one blue-and-red sock. Maybe she’s really colorblind, Henrietta thought.
Danae had her sneaker boots, with red-and-black striped socks rising up, all
direct from Hot Topic, Henrietta figured. Kari insisted on wearing her
cheerleader shoes and the little footie socks with the fuzzy pink pom-poms
on the heels. Henrietta noticed the ankle wrap peeking up from her sock.
Finally, Michelle walked in the door wearing red knee socks encased in her
fire-truck-red sneakers instead of her normal flip-flops. We don’t look
like a team from the knees down, but Ms. Seto insisted we got to wear our
own footwear, Henrietta thought to herself. Still, her ideas seemed to
work.
As if on cue, Ms. Seto walked up to the front of the room. “Today is going
to be a fun one” she started. “Our first competition is the Human
Sidewalk.” She paused at the confusion on some of the girls’ faces. “It’s
simple, and all you have to do is keep your balance. Everyone lines up
single-file, with three girls standing on the bottoms’ face, chest, and
stomach. The girl on the face has to balance, and count to ten. She then
steps off and goes to the end of the line, while everyone moves up, the
chest girl to his face, the stomach girl to his chest, and a new girl on his
stomach. If the bottom taps out, or if you fall off or can’t keep your
balance on any part of him, you’re eliminated.” Lori and Kari looked a bit
worried to Henrietta. Lori wasn’t a fat girl by any means, but she was
larger and heavier than her teammates. Kari still had her leg and ankle
injury to worry about. Ms. Seto moved to assure them: “Don’t worry, you
can hold on to the railing provided, or you can hang on to each other. It’s
not that big of a deal.” Henrietta was suddenly hoping Mikey WOULDN’T be a
part of the first meet. The girls would SMASH him!
Ms. Seto went on: “After that will be the semi-finals of the ashikoki
meet. Danae, Henrietta, and Kari, I don’t know if you’ll be up against each
other. I hope not, for your sake. Everybody else, cheer them on!” Ms.
Seto gave a slight smile at the daydreaming Henrietta. “I think someone in
here may already be thinking ahead to their date for the victory dance!”
Henrietta blushed while the rest of her team mates “Ohhh’ed” and “Ahhhh’ed.”
Maybe it was a SMALL crush on him, she thought. Even Ms. Seto noticed how
well Mikey and herself worked together. Maybe a couple of dances with Mikey
were in order!
“So, how are we going to do this? Lightest to heaviest girls?” Ami asked
Henrietta while the team headed out to the field. Henrietta shook her head.
There was a strategy involved here, and she was still working it over in
her mind. The smaller girls (Zoë, Miko, and Cindy) couldn’t help Lori keep
her balance, or Kari off her bad ankle. On the other hand, she didn’t want
to put too many of the larger girls (Lori, Tina, and Aurore) together, as
that would be too much weight for the bottom to handle. “Hey, this isn’t
rocket science” Michelle piped up. “Either the bottom can handle it, or he
can’t.” Again, Henrietta shook her head. “I’m hoping to win this one, and
we’ve got to somehow divide up so that we won’t crush him.” Tina gave her a
curious look. “Who exactly are you planning for?” she asked, a teasing lilt
to her voice. Henrietta just shrugged. “We’ve got him a lot yesterday, so
it makes sense to plan for him.” She knew she didn’t have to say exactly
who she was talking about. All the girls just nodded. “Yeah, we’d hurt him
for certain. He’s willing enough, but he is small” said Aurore.
As if summoned by her words, Mikey ran up beside the girls. “So, do you
know if we’re…working…together later?” he asked Henrietta, who shook her
head. He frowned a little, but then added: “Do you need a volunteer for
the next group contest? I think I know where you can find one!” Both girls
winced at that last comment. “Remember the last time you volunteered?”
Henrietta reminded him. “Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten” he replied. “I
know what the next contest is, and here comes the volunteer.” He turned,
and Henrietta saw Number 5 from yesterday’s Human Floor competition. “Like
I said, my brother was VERY quick to volunteer for this contest” Mikey said
with a hint of a smile on his face. Number 5 stuck out his hand. “Hey, I’m
Matt!” he stated. The girls had to giggle a little at the name. Matt just
nodded like he was used to the reaction. “Yeah, yeah, how fitting, I know”
he responded. Henrietta led the introductions to her teammates, and was
struck with the same reaction she had the other day. We’re so friendly, and
in a few minutes, we’ll be walking all over his body, she thought.
Tongue-tied, she could only blurt out “We’re in area 10. Want to come with
us?” Together, the group made their way to their area.
Area 10 was already set up, with a rail set up for the girls to keep their
balance, and a chair placed near where the bottom’s head would be. Most of
the other teams were already in place, going over who would go in what
order. Matt stripped off his t-shirt, tossed it to Mikey, and then lay down
on the blanket. The girls looked over to Henrietta to see how this would
work. “Well, first off, we’re going without shoes. Second, Kari has a bad
ankle. Who will support her?” Danae paused from untying a sneaker-boot.
“I’ll go behind Kari and help her keep her balance” she responded. Tina
volunteered to go in front of Kari, so she’d have someone to keep her
balanced on both sides. “I’ll go behind Lori” Henrietta said. “Who’s going
in front of her?” Michelle volunteered for that spot, and Henrietta gave
the rest of the girls their positions.
Just then, a whistle blew, and it was time to start. Miko, Zoë, and Tina
quickly got into position between Matt’s legs while the rest of the girls
lined up behind them. Another whistle blew, and Miko stepped up on his
stomach. She didn’t use the rail for balance, but quickly stepped up to his
chest. Zoë followed close behind, and Tina rested one foot on his abdomen.
Reaching for the back of the chair, Miko placed the ball of one foot
directly on his forehead and applied pressure, bringing the other foot next
to it. Zoë stepped up to the chest, and Tina stepped full-weight onto his
stomach. Henrietta took a quick look around and saw the other teams were in
the same position. Miko and the other face-balancing girls started counting
to ten in unison. One black girl on another team made it to five before
slipping off, and her team was out that quickly. Ahead of that team was the
Heights team. Henrietta watched Glasses-Girl wobble a bit on their bottoms’
chest, but was caught by a smaller Indian girl behind her.
When the remaining girls made it to ten, they stepped off at the same time.
Zoë tapped Matt’s face, and he obediently turned his head so she could
step up on the side of it, holding on to Tina’s arm as she did so. The rest
of the girls whispered “Good job, Miko” as she went back to the end of the
line. Kari held on to Tina’s other arm and gingerly stepped up on his
stomach, and the counting began again. Henrietta noticed Glasses-Girl was
holding on to both the chair and the arm of the Indian girl behind her and
was still having problems with her balance. When ten was reached, she sort
of slid off the side of his face and walked off. The Indian girl stepped
right up without even checking to see if he was ready. Tina tapped the side
of Matt’s face, and he turned his head again while she stepped up. Kari
gingerly stepped to his chest, and Danae quickly stood up on his stomach.
A whistle blew again. One girl couldn’t get herself positioned on her
bottom’s face, and her team was eliminated. Tina and the other
face-standing girls started their count. Another team’s girl wobbled a bit,
over-corrected herself, and stepped off, eliminating her team as well. Now
there were 13 teams left.
Henrietta found herself checking out the Heights team, just to see where
Karin was. Karin saw her looking right before she was to step up on her
bottom’s stomach. She stared at Henrietta and her team for a moment, then
walked back five positions, meaning she and Henrietta would be walking on
the same spots at the same time. She’s trying to intimidate me, Henrietta
thought. Still, she kept her place in line.
Tina finished her count and stepped off. Gingerly, Kari put her good foot
directly on Matt’s face and stepped up; holding on to both of Danae’s
outstretched arms. Henrietta could see her toes clench through her socks as
she balanced on her good foot and brought the other one in front of her,
like she froze while marching. Danae stepped up almost to Matt’s shoulders,
holding Kari’s weight, and Cindy moved up right behind Danae. There was
enough room for another girl to stand, but Mai simply rested one foot on his
abdomen.
Kari and the rest finished their count, and Danae helped her off. The rest
of the girls could see Kari limping a bit, but she walked back to the end of
the line. Danae showed her remarkable balance by taking the same pose as
Kari, but without holding on to the chair or to Cindy. Mai simply stepped
up and waited for the count to begin.
Four teams were suddenly eliminated when the bottoms started tapping out,
apparently exhausted by having five girls in a row standing on their faces.
Henrietta risked a look to see how Matt was doing. She couldn’t see his
whole face under Danae’s red-and-black sock, but she could see a little
smile peeking from either side of her heel. He even seemed to be counting
with Danae, and Henrietta noticed he tapped his leg on every count. She
breathed a sigh of relief. Now she just had to worry about her team.
Danae stepped off easily enough, and strolled to the end of the line amid
whispered congratulations from her team mates. Cindy nudged his head, and
again he turned to one side while she stepped up. Mai took her spot on the
chest, and Michelle climbed onto his stomach. Henrietta could see Lori was
getting more nervous. She patted her on the back and said “Don’t worry. He
can handle it.” Lori relaxed a little. “I go about 120 pounds. I hope so,
for his sake.”
Cindy did a little hop off the side of his face and walked to the end of
the line. Mai placed one foot on one side of Mat’s face while holding on to
Michelle, who had moved up to his chest. Mai then placed her other foot
next to it, leaving Matt’s nose peeking out from between her socks. With a
heavy sigh, Lori put one foot on his stomach, and applied her weight.
Henrietta heard an audible grunt from Matt, and his stomach did sink down a
bit. Still, he tapped his foot in time to Mai’s counting.
Mai stepped off Matt’s face and made the return trip. Michelle had a
nervous moment trying to step up like Mai had done. At the last second, he
turned his head and she stepped on it. Lori walked up to his chest, and
Henrietta took her place on his abdomen. His stomach felt firm under her
socked feet, with no sinking at all. She barely noticed when another team
fell spectacularly on their bottom. Still, her mental count put the
remaining team at eight.
Michelle finished her count and stepped off, and now came the moment
Henrietta had dreaded. Lori gingerly reached her arms behind her and
Henrietta grabbed them. She placed one foot directly on Matt’s face, much
as Kari and Danae had done. Then she stepped up and placed her other foot
on top of the first one. Henrietta moved up to the chest, still holding on
to Lori’s arms, and she could feel Aurore step up behind her. She could
barely see Matt’s face, covered as it was by Lori’s foot, but she could
still see him grimace under the weight. His breath felt labored and heavy
under her feet. She glanced over to Mikey on the sideline, and even he had
some worry on his face. Still, Lori started her count, and Henrietta could
only hold her up.
Finally, Lori made it to ten, and quickly stepped off. Henrietta paused a
bit, letting Matt get his breath back. Matt looked up at her and whispered
“You’re the girl Mikey won’t stop talking about, aren’t you?” Henrietta
gave a slight smile and replied “Probably.” She then placed one foot over
his eyes, held out her arm to Aurore, and put her other foot on his mouth
and chin, standing sideways on his face. She found she was looking directly
over at Karin, who had mimicked her exact move and was staring back at her.
Both girls started counting at the same time, never taking their eyes off of
each other.
She reached ten, turned to Aurore, and whispered “He’s all yours. Good
luck!” as she stepped off. Ami gave her a wink as she passed his chest and
Miko just smiled at her from her perch on his stomach. I guess we’ll be
making another trip, she thought as she made it to the end of the line.
Lori looked up from peeling off her socks. “I didn’t hurt him, did I?”
Henrietta smiled and shook her head. “He had enough strength to talk to me,
so you couldn’t have crushed him THAT bad.” she replied. Lori breathed a
sigh of relief. “Good. He gave me a little wink before I stepped up, so I
really didn’t want to hurt him.” Henrietta started to remove her own socks.
He would be getting a little sweaty, and the girls were afraid of slipping
off. You got better traction barefoot. She noticed with amusement Cindy
had on light blue nail polish, and Danae’s toenails were painted black.
Mai’s were painted red, as were Michelle’s. Kari’s were pink, and she still
had her ankle wrap on. Henrietta was surprised at the length of Kari's
toes. They almost looked like little fingers. She was sorry she didn’t
think about applying nail polish, and idly wondered what color Mikey would
like.
Aurore popped up behind her. “So, how many laps do you think he can take?”
she asked. “We saw him take a lot of weight yesterday, so he should last
awhile” said Henrietta. “Yeah, he blew me a kiss before I stepped up, so he
should be good for a few more laps” Aurore replied. Henrietta looked up to
the front of the line. Ami was halfway through her count, holding on to
Miko, while Zoë was actually bouncing a little on his stomach. Yeah, she
thought, we’re going to be here awhile.
The line kept moving, and more and more teams started falling off or the
bottom would tap out. Henrietta’s team had a scare when Danae almost fell
stepping up to his chest. Fortunately, she put her foot down on his arm,
and Cindy helped her back up. This caused Kari to wobble on his face, but
she managed to keep her balance until the count of ten before falling off.
The rest of the team noticed she was limping a little more than usual, but
she seemed to be walking it off. Perhaps afraid of falling off, Danae took
it easy on her turn, holding on to the chair. Cindy took it easy as well,
standing on the side of Matt’s head again. Mai did the double face stand
again, her tiny golden-brown toes clenched on his forehead. When she
finished, Henrietta stepped on his stomach for the second time. She noticed
it was a lot softer. He must be about worn out, she thought. He seemed to
be struggling for breath with Lori on his chest and Michelle on the side of
his head. Michelle stepped off, and Henrietta could see Matt’s face tense
up when Lori put her foot over it. Still, he lay quietly when she stood up
and started counting. She finished her count quickly and stepped off and it
was finally Henrietta’s turn again. She reached her arm back to Aurore and
put her foot over his face, and was surprised when he blew her a kiss. “I
don’t blame him for liking you” he whispered as she put her other foot on
his mouth and chin. “What?” she asked before realizing she wouldn’t be able
to hear him with her foot over his mouth. She started counting while
looking over at Karin’s team. She was again perched on her bottom’s face in
the exact same position as before, staring back at Henrietta’s team.
Henrietta also realized they were the only two teams left, as everyone else
was either cheering on her team or the Heights team.
Once her count was finished, she headed back while Aurore stepped up. She
was astounded at the level of abuse both Matt and the Heights bottom could
endure. She wasn’t sure, but a third trip across their bodies should be the
last. Ami was tapping her foot on Matt’s chest, and Miko looked a bit
surprised to be back on his stomach for a third time. Even Matt was
starting to look worn out.
The end came rather suddenly. Glasses-Girl was stepping up on the bottom’s
face for the third time, as was Zoë. Suddenly, the Heights bottom started
banging both hands on the mat. The whistle blew, and Henrietta’s team had
won the contest. Her team mates screamed with joy and got together for a
group hug, Henrietta included. In their excitement, they trampled Matt even
more. Henrietta realized she’d stepped up directly on his thighs, while Ami
was perched directly on his crotch. She quickly stepped off, dragging a
jumping Ami with her, and checked to see if he was okay. He seemed to enjoy
that action more than the contest itself. He started to rise, knocking an
excited Cindy off balance and into Danae’s arms. The Heights team was
trampling their bottom as well, but not in excitement. Karin seemed to be
furious as she landed a few heel stomps onto his stomach before walking the
length of his body, stepping right off his face. Several of the other
girls, including the Indian and Glasses-Girl, followed suit. Their bottom
lay on the mat after the Heights team stomped off before being helped off by
some of his friends and on-lookers.
“That’s another one under our belts” an excited Ami exclaimed. “So, what’s
the next event?” Michelle asked Henrietta. “I think we have the next
ashikoki round in about an hour” she answered. “That gives us time to clean
up and find out who we’re up against.” Aurore was quick with her reply. “I
just talked to Ms. Seto. Danae and Kari are against each other in the next
round.” She paused a bit before continuing. “The bottom will be seated on
a chair, and the girl has to stand while working.” Henrietta looked over to
Kari, still barefoot and wearing her ankle wrap. She wondered how this was
going to work.
